Charter School System Accountability

Curriculum Development

Employment Background Checks
Purpose
To ensure the safety and security of all students by thoroughly vetting all employees and volunteers.
General Statement of Policy
All employees and volunteers undergo comprehensive background checks before beginning work. This includes criminal history, reference checks, and educational verification.
Procedures
Background checks are completed before employment begins. Checks include state and federal criminal history, child protection registry, and employment verification. Results are reviewed by administration.
Responsibility
Human Resources department manages all background check processes with oversight from the school director.
Public Data and Data Subject Requests
Purpose
To protect student and staff privacy while complying with public data access laws and regulations.
General Statement of Policy
Student records are confidential and protected under FERPA. Public data requests are handled according to state law while maintaining appropriate privacy protections.
Procedures
Data requests must be submitted in writing. Requests are reviewed within 10 business days. Personal information is redacted as required by law before release.
Responsibility
The school administrator and designated data privacy official manage all data requests and ensure compliance with privacy laws.
School Curriculum and Instruction Goals
Purpose
To define clear academic goals that prepare students for success while celebrating cultural heritage and diversity.

School Meals Policy
Purpose
To provide nutritious meals that support student health and learning while accommodating dietary needs and cultural preferences.

All students have access to healthy, nutritious meals regardless of ability to pay. Meals meet federal nutrition guidelines and accommodate religious and dietary restrictions.
Procedures
Free and reduced lunch applications are processed confidentially. Meal allergies and restrictions are documented and communicated to food service staff. Menus are planned monthly.
Responsibility
Food service coordinator manages meal programs with oversight from administration. Health and safety compliance is maintained at all times.
